In the video, a man can be seen leaning against a tree in an open field, confronted by armed individuals. The scene depicts a tense situation, with one assailant warning, “From Juliantla, in your mother’s home, son of a b***h, you hear me? You don’t mess with people from the mountains, man. Renowned journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva reported that state security sources in Michoacán confirmed the identity of the person in the video as Hugo Figueroa, Joan Sebastian’s nephew. Authorities from the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office (PGJE) are currently analyzing the video to incorporate it into the ongoing investigation into Figueroa’s death.

Background on the Incident
Figueroa, a businessman, was abducted on January 28th while attending a rodeo event at La Aurora Bullring in Tarímbaro, Michoacán. The abduction was reportedly carried out by at least seven armed individuals. During the incident, one of Figueroa’s bodyguards, identified as Alfonso, was killed in an attempt to prevent the kidnapping, while another man was injured and taken to a local hospital.
After a thorough search, authorities found Figueroa’s body in the early hours of January 31st on a road in Huaniqueo. Originally from Juliantla, Guerrero, like his famous uncle Joan Sebastian, Figueroa was well-known for his ranch, “La Misión,” which featured a popular cattle show that toured various regions in Mexico.
